September 25th, 2021 - Battle of Earle's Ford
The tour will begin at 10:00 AM in Landrum at the Shell Station/Burger King at the interchange of SC-14 and I-26. (1880 Highway 14 East, Landrum, SC 29356)
There will be four stops to visit four sites and battles of the American Revolution all revolving around the Battle of Earle’s Ford. At each of the four sites there will be a discussion, led by Wayne Roberts of the museum, of the events of July 13th and 14th, 1780, complete with illustrations.
Total driving time between stops is approximately one hour.

- We will travel down SC14/Road S-128 to the bridge to the Battle of Earle’s Ford. (Approx. 2700 Landrum Road, Landrum SC 29356)
- We will travel from there to the site of Gowan’s Blockhouse at the Redeemed Baptist Church on the southwest side of Landrum. Action here resulted in the Battle of Earle’s Ford. (1000 South Blackstock Road, Landrum, SC 29356)
- We will travel to the site the of Shiloh Methodist Church, scene of a sharp skirmish between American and British troops fleeing their defeat at Earle’s Ford. (311 Blackstock Rd, Inman, SC 29349)
- Finally we will visit the site of Fort Prince near the intersection of Mount Zion Road and Fort Prince Road. The site is located behind a mobile home. (356 Fort Prince Road Wellford, SC 29385)
